I've stayed in Bruges till tuesday, but no other concert was of the same level as yours (although there were all of a high level)....thank you very much. Last year I was also in Antwerp, because I'm a great fan of your ensemble and I'm also a fan of Jan Van Elsacker(who sung extremely well), but I thougt the concert was even better as last year. Bonjour Christina, je m'appelle Roberto Rizzo et j'ai 26 ans. J'ai déjà parcouru l'itinéraire du violon, de l'alto et maintenant je suis en train de suivre des cours pour l'orgue à l'Académie musicale de Louvain (Belgique). Je participe au monde musical depuis que j'avais 8 ans. J'ai joué dans bon nombre d'orchestres, mais je préfère néanmoins la musique ancienne. Fasciné par cette musique du 16e au 18e siècle, j'essaie d'élargir mes connaissances de cette période. Ceci inclut aussi que j'aime jouer cette musique, autant que possible. Je voudrais vous demander si vous pouviez me passer les références de la musique du disque Stefano Landi. Les deux premières oeuvres me fascinent énormément, le chant du ténor est fantastique (j'ai chanté aussi dans un choeur comme ténor). C'est pourquoi j'aimerais jouer ou chanter ces pièces dans la mesure du possible. Je vous souhaite encore beaucoup de succès et de persévérance dans la façon de manipuler la musique des temps anciens. J'en suis ravi! Cordialement, Roberto Rizzo

And I have a little question.. Is possible to find anywehere notes of songs on thi CD? I'm guitar player and I would be satisfied to play this great music on my own i think then I would feel it better, of course i would like to play this music for my own pleasure only. dear Christina, Last saturday my wife and I were lucky enough to attend to your Tarantella concert at Boughton Aluph Church in Kent in England, and it was fantastic. I was even luckier as i was able to very briefly meet you and meet Lucilla Galleazzi and you both kindly signed my CD copy: I have to confess (althout it was probably very obvious. . . ) that i was completly and utterly star-struck and I am sorry that at the time i was unable to connect two brain cells together: I would have liked to ask about new projects such as the new of a recording of the music of Luigi Rossi that i have read about at the Alpha web site, about your work at the Palazzo Barberini, about other plans to come down to this corner of Kent. All these questions and others appeared as is ussually tha case as I was in the car on my way home: maybe there will be another chance, one can always hope (althogh if this ever happens i will problably restrain myself of asking too many questions. . . ). In a previous e-mail i wrote to you months ago when i was enquiring about your concerts in England I mentioned my daughter Anna who was not with me during the concert: I wish I will be able to bring her one day to hear L'Arpeggiatta 'live' for as i mentioned to Lucilla Galleazzi, 'La Pizzicarella' is a piece that often sparks in my house song and dance and make us all very happy. Please pass on my enthusistic congratulations to Veronika Skuplik, Elisabeth Seitz and Marcello Vitale who were excellent as in deed was the whole of the ensamble: I regret now not having chased more signatures to my program and not had given my congratulations in person especially as Veronika and Elisabeth were only a few metres away from me at the time, but the experience stays with me and it always be a happy memory (the image of so many english middle class people singing 'di-rin-din-di' at Lucilla Galleazzi's request is something that i will not forget. . . ), and if I have the chance in future I will be there with pen and paper like a shameless fan chasing autographs. Bonjour, Je me présente, je suis Alain Gillibert, Président d'une association, Les Fêtes d'Hébé, qui essaie de donner aux amateurs et jeunes professionnels l'occasion de découvrir et pratiquer les danses anciennes, renaissance et baroque, essentiellement à Paris. Je suis très heureux de m'adresser à vous pour deux raisons : 1 - tout d'abord pour vous remercier aussi chaleureusement que possible des grands bonheurs que vous nous avez apportés ces dernières années lors des concerts de l'Arpegiatta à Paris et Sablé. Je garde un souvenir ébloui du premier concert auquel j'ai assisté à Sablé après l'annulation et devant un tout petit parterre. Que d'émotions! Et que d'émotions encore quelques mois après à la Salle Gaveau avec Marco Beasley et Lucilla Galeazzi, puis enfin à Sablé et encore la salle Gaveau en 2004! Pour moi,  ce que vous faites ensemble c'est exactement ce que je recherche et j'ai envie d'entendre, un mélange de la technique la plus exigeante et d'élan vers l'autre. Continuez pour notre bonheur! Dites moi aussi comment être au courant de l'actualité de vos spectacles en France que je peux relayer sur notre site, même si, avec votre popularité croissante, vous n'avez plus guère besoin de notre petit relais. 2 - ensuite plus concrètement vous remercier pour avoir permis à Bruna Gondoni d'être de retour à temps à Florence pour pouvoir assurer la fin de notre stage, après votre concert à Bruxelles. I have just come across the Penguin Café Orchestra, and there is something in their music that is also in yours, what I might call the rhythm of ancestral memory, – its as if you’ve heard the music in the past and so it is intuitively accessible. Allerdings habe ich einige Stücke des Livemitschnitts vermißt, die Sie, wie ich in einem Interview hörte, dem Stück hinzufügten. We have since bought all of them (Except Cavalieri which has only just come out)! Is there a list of your planned tour for 2005 somewehere as we would love to see your group perform live? Dear Madam Christina! I don't know if you remember me - I wrote to you in 2003 about "La Tarantella" CD which i was (and I still am) charmed! Now, I have listened (I'm listening it all the time in fact) - "Homo Fugit Velut Umbra", have to say that i have never listened something like that - something because I think that's something bigger than only music... I see in songs from "homo fugit.." strong feelings, strong images - images of spirit and soul of Baroqe - which epoque I think is still the most mysterious and interesting and genuine. I have known Vivaldi, Telemann, Bach, Haendel .. but not Steffano Landi .. Thanks for that strong experiences i'm feeling during listening to the CD ("Augelin" - i don't know what to say!)... Signora Pluhar, Non so di preciso in che lingua è meglio scriverle. Quindi penso di proseguire in francese visto che è la mia lingua madre. Je vous écris pour une question particulière qui j'espère saura vous toucher. Avant toute chose je voudrais vous féliciter pour le merveilleux travail effectué sur le disque "la tarantella". Vous et votre groupe êtes d'excellents musiciens et je ne connais encore personne qui n'ait été touché à l'audition de ce disque. Je l'écoute en boucle depuis des mois et je ne m'en lasse pas. Bravi! Je suis moi-même diplômée de l'université de Bruxelles en musicologie. A la fin de mes études je suis partie vivre un an et demi à Milan ou j'ai enseigné le français et étudié le chant en privé. Je poursuis actuellement des études de chant classique au conservatoire de Liège (chez Greta De Reyghere) et je suis parallèlement en train d'effectuer les démarches pour faire une thèse de doctorat en muscologie. Thèse qui traitera du tarantisme. J'imagine bien que vous devez être extrêmement prise (j'ai un peu pris conscience de ce que signifiait "être musicien" en étudiant au conservatoire et je sais que ça implique un horaire surchargé) mais si cela était possible pour vous je serais vraiment ravie de pouvoir vous rencontrer et parler un peu avec vous de votre travail sur le répertoire de "la tarantella" lors de votre passage à bruxelles. J'espère que vous pourrez me répondre par l'affirmative. Une question encore: où a lieu ce concert? Pourriez-vous me donner le nom de la salle? Merci beaucoup. Et bonne journée. Natacha Pollet.

Your AllImprovviso makes my heart soar, my feet uplifted and my ears are totally besotted by your exquisite music you have all played. Please will you do more, similar to track 12, the African dun dun drums I play rejoice! Bon chance in all things you pursue in the future, I eagerly await your next CD BUT, please please find a distributor who does not make me wait 5 months before delivering my order to my record shop I purchase from in Perth, Western Australia. Je suis très choquée par deux articles à propos de la Rappresentatione, car c’est un bon enregistrement. Je suis, en particulier, choquée à propos de certaines critiques publiée sur le site d’Arpeggiata, au sujet de la prestation de Marco Beasley dans cet enregistrement. La collaboration de l’Arpeggiata avec Beasley (d’Accordone) a toujours été très fertile et encore cette fois. Je trouve le choix de prendre Marco Beasley pour Corpo excellent. La fragilité et sensibilité de sa voix illustre très bien Corpo. Ne sommes-nous pas en somme aussi tous des ‘Corpo ‘s à la recherche de l’idéal? Et ne sommes-nous pas fragiles? Je ne comprends pas du tout la critique que la voix de Beasley soit superficielle (Diapason)… Au contraire, cette fragilité, ce doute nous est très proche, à chacun de nous. Puis la critique que sa présence soit ‘dérangeante’ (Crescendo)…; doit on considérer chaque être à la recherche de soi même comme dérangeante? Car c’est ce que Beasley avec l’Arpeggiata a tenté de représenter. .. Jusqu’à présent, les critiques étaient pleines de louanges pour le naturel de la voix de Beasley. Pourquoi donc ‘critiquer’ ce naturel et tangible Corpo, le lien entre nous, mortels, et l’au-delà? La voix de Beasley illustre L’ETRE HUMAIN par rapport à tous les autres rôles dans cette œuvre qui ne le sont pas, ou, du moins, ne soient pas si concrets. Nous sommes Corpo, c’est une réplique de chacun de nous! La ‘Rappresentatione’ par l’Arpeggiata est sereine et c’est vraiment dommage de la part des critiques de ne pas voir que le sujet de cette œuvre nous concerne tous que cette fragilité est en nous tous. La distribution de cette œuvre est excellente, sans exceptions.

Dear Christina My best Christmas present to myself was your cd All’improvviso so two questions: when is the next cd out and when will L’Arpeggiata be playing northern England eg the Royal Northern College of Music or Bridgewater Hall  in Manchester,  or Leeds Bradford or Sheffield as musical creativity this pleasurable has to be heard LIVE. My New Year resolution is to get your previous cds. Sehr verehrte Frau Pluhar, zuerst einmal Entschuldigung das ich Sie nicht kannte. Vor 2 Wochen empfahl mir mein CD Berater (Schallplatte in Duisburg) die Aufnahme "Rappresentatione". Ich kaufte sie und zu Hause angekommen legte ich diese natürlich sofort auf. Ich war und bin immer noch überwältigt. Welche Spielfreude! Einfach wunderbar der Klang des Orchesters und natürlich auch der Stimmen. Ich bestellte mir dann sofort die "Landi" CD. Ich war sehr gespannt darauf ob die Interpretation ähnlich gut ist. Aber welche Überraschung erwartete mich gestern. Die CD ist ebenfalls sensationell. Ich habe die beiden oben beschriebenen Aufnahmen bestimmt jeweils 10 x gehört und ich bin immer noch so begeistert, das ich dachte das muß ich Ihnen einfach mal schreiben. Das ich sobald ich aus Venedig wiederkomme mir die restlichen CDs von Ihnen bestelle ist sowieso klar. Ich bin ein kleiner Musikverrückter und bereise neben den Häusern im Ruhrgebiet, insbesondere die Häuser in Brüssel, Antwerpen und Amsterdam. Gibt es Ihrerseits Informationen wo und wann Sie auftreten? Ich würde Sie und Ihr Ensemble sehr gerne auf der Bühne erleben. Jetzt höre ich auf denn ich möchte Ihre kostbare Zeit nicht länger in Anspruch nehmen. Ich wünsche Ihnen ein gesundes, erfolgreiches und zufriedenes Jahr 2005 Andreas Börner
